We the jury

Well I'm done we came to a verdict on Fri. The case was a 1st degree murder case, and the defendant was found guilty.
I will tell you this has been a wonderful experience. To see the process from beginning to end has been great and if any of you get the chance to serve do so without complaint and it will go better for you. Now when I say wonderful that's not to say that it was happy go lucky, it wasn't, what I mean is that the growth and experience was wonderful. It wasn't easy finding someone guilty of murder. But the evidence pointed to only one person. The growth I have experienced was amazing maybe that's why I feel so emotionally drained. A lot of growing in a short period of time. One of the things I learned is I'm truly blessed. I have a lot to be thankful for. My relationship may be few but they are deep and true. My life may not be as full as some think it should be but it's honest. I'm very grateful for this experience and will never forget it. I guess in some way I owe the defendant a thank you for helping me see how truly wonderful my life is. I guess like the old saying goes "there but for the grace of God, go I". I think I will be living my life a little different I hope that it sticks. If any of you have questions about the trial just ask.

Now I can get back to my blog, giving toys, crocheting, sewing, taking pictures, I hope to get caught up this week. Thanks to all of you out there. I love you all.

I think sometimes, we all need to be reminded how good we have it.....and God uses different things to reach different people!

Wow. I'd never quite thought about jury duty this way. But you are undeniably right. Glad your back with your positive outtake from the experience.

Oh wow, I know just how you feel. Thanks for visiting my blog and saying you had just written about your jury service. You put my feelings into words. My case was for vehicular manslaughter -- two people were killed in a collision with a guy who was under the influence (not as cut & dried as it sounds because we actually deadlocked) but it's made me think about how I want to do things differently, especially when it comes to driving. I'm glad your jury duty is over with and you can get back to your crafts.

jury duty is an interesting experience, for sure. we have an amazing legal system, but it's unfortunate that politics and personality (of lawyers)plays such a big role in it.

have fun getting back to "normal" things!

Thank God for people like you who serve on juries. So many people I know try to always get out of it. I don't. I've gone every time I've been called. Good for you! THANKS.
